Lance Sergeant James George Ryder, son of Mr and Mrs G H Ryder, of Tredworth, Gloucester, served with 9th (Airborne) Field Company, Royal Engineers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died on 23 September 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
