Private Alan Francis Gregory volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and attended parachute training course number 86 at RAF Ringway between 4 and 19 October 1943. His course report stated: 'very keen, has worked hard and jumped well.'
Pte Gregory served with the 13th Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.
Pte Gregory died on 22 August 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
