Private James F Smith

Private James Frederick Smith was the son of James Henry and Rose Smith, and husband of Gladys Vera Smith, of Canning Town, Essex. He served with 11th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Private Smith died during the Battle at some time between 17-25 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
