Bernard Rehill was the son of Charles and Frances Rehill, of Kirkdale, Liverpool. He enlisted in the Cameron Highlanders and volunteered for airborne forces.
Private Rehill successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 28 from 21 to 28 September 1942 and was posted to 11th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operations in North Africa (Operation Torch), Italy, and Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Pte Rehill was killed in action on 25 September 1944, aged 31, and was given a field burial by members of the Dutch Red Cross on 2 October 1944 beside Onderlangs at Arnhem, he was reinterred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 24 August 1945.
