Ronald McKee volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and attended parachute training course 92 at RAF Ringway between 17 November and 3 December 1943. His course report stated: 'confident in aircraft, reliable as No 6. Good parachutist.'
Pte McKee was posted to the 9th Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.
Pte McKee died on 6 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
