Private Leonard Lewis, son of John E and Rose H Lewis, of Holt, Derbyshire, served with 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Op Torch.
Private Lewis died on 10 September 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
