Private Andrew Laird was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Laird, and husband of Ann Laird, of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. He served with 3rd Parachute Battalion, and took part in the invasion of Sicily, during Op Husky.
Private Laird died on 14 July 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Cassino War Cemetery, Sicily.
