Private David H Hunter

21 Sep 1944

Private David Hardy Hunter was the son of Robert White Hunter and Jessie Halbert Hunter, of Lundin Links, Fife. He was a Dux Medallist of Leven Secondary School. After joining the Army he joined 156th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Private Hunter died on 21 September 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
