Private William Guthrie Aitken Hopgood, son of James and Janet Aitken Hopgood, of Kirkintilloch, Dunbartonshire, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.
Private Hopgood died on 6 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville Churchyard, Normandy.
