Francis Graham enlisted into the Lancashire Fusiliers, and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
Private Graham attended the 2nd Advanced Parachute Course at RAF Ringway from 14 to 19 January 1942, he was then posted to the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte Graham died of wounds on 6 January 1943, age 25. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial. As he died of wounds it is likely that he was buried, but that the grave was destroyed in later fighting.
