Vincent Patrick Cole Frost was the son of William Henry Cole Frost and Gladys Annie May Frost, of Clapham Park, London, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Private Frost successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 78, from 14 to 24 August 1943. His course report stated “Excellent type, injured leg on final descent.” He was posted to 7th Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Pte Frost was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 21, and was given a field burial in the grounds of Grangues Chateau and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 1 June 1945.
