Graham Basil Fox the son of Percy William and Marion Rose Fox, of Reading, Berkshire, enlisted into the West Yorkshire Regiment before volunteering for airborne forces.
Private Fox successfully completed his training at Ringway on course 44 from 28 December 1942 to 8 January 1943, his report stated that he was ‘Very good, hard worker, interested’.
He was then posted to the 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment and went with the battalion on Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte Fox was killed in in a training accident on 27 May 1943, aged 20. He is buried at Le Petit Lac Cemetery, Algeria.
