Arthur Jacques Coulthard was the son of Henry and Margaret B Coulthard, of Putney, London, he enlisted in the Rifle Brigade and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Lance Corporal Coulthard successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 77, from 9 to 18 August 1943. His course report stated “Should make a good section leader”. He was posted to C Company, 7th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
L/Cpl Coulthard was killed in action on 10 July 1944, aged 21, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
