Private John K Coldicott

John Keith Coldicott was the son of Jack Garfield and Katherine May Coldicott, he enlisted in the Gloucestershire Regiment and volunteered for Airborne forces. The CWGC spell the name as Caldicott.

Private Coldicott successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, and was posted to B Company, 8th Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Coldicott was killed in action on 25 August 1944, aged 21, and was given a field burial at Quetteville and re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France, on 25 October 1945.
