Private William Izatt Melville, son of James and Mary Izatt Melville, of Thornton, Fife, served with 12th (Yorks) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.
Private Melville died on 29 March 1945, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, Germany.
