Private Eric Aske volunteered for airborne forces and undertook parachute training course 185 at RAF Ringway from 19 November – 15 December 1945. After initially being posted to the Airborne Forces Holding Battalion, he was posted to The 5th (Scottish) Parachute Battalion.
Pte Aske went to Palestine and was demobbed from The 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment in 1948.
