Samuel Liddell enlisted into The General Service Corps.
Private Liddell volunteered for airborne forces in May 1945.
Private Liddell qualified as a military parachutist on course 173, which ran at RAF Ringway from 23 July to 8 August 1945, and was initially posted to the Holding Battalion. The course reports shows ‘Pte Liddell A good all round performer, average.’
He was then posted to The 2nd Parachute Battalion and served in Palestine.
Pte Liddell was demobbed in February 1948.
