Warrant Officer Class 2 Martin Johnston

Martin Johnston enlisted into The Parachute Regiment in April 1987 and passed out with 533 (Rhine) Platoon in March 1988.

He was posted to A Company (Coy), The 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (3 PARA).

In 1996 he went on a two year posting to ITC Catterick, returning to C Coy 3 PARA in 1998.

He continued to serve with 3 PARA until 2007 when he was posted to 4 PARA as a Senior Permanent Staff Instructor.

WO2 Johnston returned to D Coy 3 PARA in 2009 until retiring in September 2010, having undertaken four tours of Northern Ireland and served on Operations Agricola, Telic and Herrrick IV.
