Frederick Harry John Kemp was born on 29 March 1926.
He enlisted in The Parachute Regiment in 1945.
Private Kemp attended Parachute Training Course B184 at RAF Ringway, from 9 November to 29 November 1945. His instructor noted that he was a ‘Keen, quiet type, well-disciplined and jumped without hesitation.’
He was initially posted to the Holding Battalion, then to the 9th Parachute Battalion.
Pte Kemp served in Palestine until 1948.
After leaving Regular Service he joined the Reserve as a Sapper in Brighton and ended his Service as a Major and a Company Commander in 9th Battalion, Queen's Regiment.
He died on 15 February 1996.
