Adam Charles Barnes enlisted in September 2008 and attended the Army Foundation College (AFC Harrogate).
After training at ITC Catterick he Passed Out in December 2009 and was posted to 2 PARA. He completed his jump training early the following year and received his wings in February 2010.
When Pte Barnes joined the battalion he went to D Company. In October 2010 he deployed on operational duties to Afghanistan for Operation Herrick XIII until April 2011.
He joined C Company early in 2012 and was promoted to Lance Corporal in June of that year.
In December 2012 L/Cpl Barnes became the armourer with A Company 2 PARA.
