Ian Alexander Renny was born in Wandsworth. 

5 December 1942 as a cadet, appointed 2nd Lt, Royal Armoured Corps.

14 January 1944 6th Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment.

March 1945 Deployment to Germany Rhine Crossing.

During action starting 28 March 1945, Ian's name appears on Casualty List number 1726. It states he was wounded on 9 April 1945. Rank given at W/Lt.  The family believe he was wounded near Erle, Germany when his scout car hit. 

November 1946 Released from active military duty. He was given the honorary rank of Captain at his release. Ian sadly passed away 31 January 2006 in Surrey.
