Arthur Claude Firth Stewart was the son of Arthur and Dora Ann Stewart, of Wallington, Surrey.
He is was promoted from 2Lt to Lt. with The Yorks and Lancs Regiment 22 April 1941. Although his parachute jump instruction records are unknown, records state that he became commander of 10 Pln, C. Coy, 4th Parachute Bn.
Arthur was KIA at the age of 24, on 15 August 1944 during Op. Dragoon in the South of France. He was laid to rest at The Mazargues War Cemetery plot 4, Row C, grave 11.
