Jack Goulding, enlisted 31 August 1944, with The 1st Battalion, The Border Regiment.
He took part in Op. Doomsday, Norway.
On 22 October, 1945, the Border Regiment, ceased to become an Airborne Regiment and handed in their Pegasus patch and maroon beret for the Y insignia of the 5th Infantry Division. This is what he is wearing in the profile photo.
His brother, Trooper Leslie P. Goulding, 1st Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron, was KIA during Op. Market Garden, ambushed at the Wolfheze railway crossing.
