Major Kerry Gospel joined The Army as a recruit in 1987 and undertook Basic Training at Blackdown Barracks, Deepcut. On completion of Basic & Trade Training he served as a JNCO in 9 Ordnance Battalion, 78 Ordnance Company, 10 Airborne Workshop, RAF Mount Pleasant, 3 Base Ammunition Depot, and 20 Commando Battery.
On promotion to SNCO he was posted to 23 Special Air Service during which he provided Logistic Support to a Special Forces Operation in The Former Yugoslavia. In 1999 he moved to 9 Supply Regiment as a Local Resource Specialist and deployed in support of Special Forces to East Timor. In 2001 he assumed the post of Squadron Sergeant Major 43 Supply Squadron deploying on Ex Saif Sareea and taking his Squadron to Iraq on the initial deployment of Operation Telic. Promotion to Warrant Officer Class One followed and he was posted to HQ Land Forces as The Command Ordnance Warrant Officer before commissioning in 2006.
As an Officer he has served as the Senior Supply Training SO3 and deployed to Op Herrick 11 as The Logistic Support Team Commander of 3 RIFLES Battlegroup before returning to instructing on Senior Command Wing Courses. During this career he has served in UK, Germany, Norway,Belize, The Falklands, Denmark, Romania, Slovakia, East Timor, Poland, Australia, Oman, Bosnia, Croatia, Hungary, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
He was a guest jumper and helper with The Red Devils Freefall Team and has represented Great Britain as a Wakeboarder and represented The Army / RLC in Rowing, Triathlon, Cycling, and Running.
