C/Sgt Charles Vivian Palmer, volunteered for the airborne forces from the 1/5 Royal Warwickshire Regiment.
He was jump trained at RAF Ringway on Course number 8. This early course ran between 10 and 24 February 1942.
Charles served with A and HQ Company, 4th Bn Parachute Regt, BNAF.
He was killed in action, Italy 12 January 1944.
Charles was laid to rest at Sangro River Cemetery, Italy. Grave location V.D.21. "Loved by All" is inscribed on his headstone.
