Stanley William Jinks was the husband of Maude Mary Jinks, of Colchester, Essex, he enlisted in The Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, and volunteered for airborne forces.
Warrant Officer Class II Jinks successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, and took part in operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).
WO II Jinks was killed in action on 24 March 1945, age 29, and was given a field burial at Hamminkein, Germany, and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany on 16 April 1947.
