Denis Harrold transferred to the Parachute Regiment from 29th Training Battalion in
July 1945, selection and initial training at AAC Depot (Hardwick Hall,
Derbyshire).
He completed his Parachute Training Course on B174 in Manchester, August
1945. His instructor noted about Denis, "Quiet and calm always. Worked hard. Satisfactory."
Denis was then posted to the Parachute Regiment Reserve Battalion,
(Piddlehinton, Dorset) and then to No2 Para Regiment Infantry Training
Centre (Shorncliffe, Kent).
He was promoted to Lance Corporal in April 1946, and was posted later
that year to HQ Airborne Establishments, initially at Alward House,
Alberbury, Wilts, and then Knollys Road, Aldershot from where he was
demobbed and transferred to the Army Reserve in December 1947.
