Corporal David C Sayer

David Charles Sayer was born and raised in East London, he enlisted in The Devonshire Regiment, and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Sayer successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, and took part in operation Overlord (Normandy).

Cpl Sayer was killed in action on 11 June 1944, age 30, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
