Private Dennis Pepperall

Dennis Pepperall was the son of Albert and Edith Pepperall, of Highbridge, Somerset, he enlisted in the Somerset Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Pepperall successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Pepperall was killed in action on 15 July 1944, age 22, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
