Clarence John McCullough was the son of John and Elsie McCullough, of Belfast, Northern Ireland, he enlisted in the Royal Engineers and volunteered for airborne forces.
Sapper McCullough successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to 249 (Airborne) Field Company, Royal Engineers, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Spr McCullough was killed in action on 9 June 1944, age 19, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
