David John Morris was the son of David and Annie Jane Morris, of Doncaster, he enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.
Private Morris successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway, and was posted to 195 Airlanding Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Private Morris was killed in action on 8 August 1944, aged 20, and was buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
