Lieutenant Lloyd H Adams

Lloyd Herman Adams was the son of Horace Laurence and Aglantine Olivia Adams; husband of Helen Mary Adams. He enlisted into the Royal Regiment of Canada on 26 August 1937 and was commissioned in the Royal Winnipeg Rifles on 13 February 1943 and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Lt Adams arrived in the UK on 19 September 1943 and transferred to 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion on 15 November 1943. He was 5' 10", 138 lbs, dark Complexion, blue eyes, dark brown hair, 20/20 vision.

Lieutenant Adams successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 100 from 21 January to 5 February 1944. His course report stated "A capable parachutist and an Officer who has been a leader to the men with him." He took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy Landings).

Lt Adams was killed in action on 6 June 1944, aged 28, during operation Overlord and was given a field burial at Le Menil de Breville Par Bavent and was re-interred to Ranville War Cemetery on 26 June 1945.
