Cecil Walter Ware was the son of Charles and Julia Ware. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.
Craftsman Ware successfully completed his glider training, and was posted to 1st Airborne Divisional Workshops, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and took part in operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Cfn Ware was killed in action on 18 September 1944, aged 41 and was given a field burial by the local Air Raid Wardens in the Onder de Bomen General Cemetery at Renkum in September/October 1944. He was re-interred to Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery on 24 August 1945.
