Ronald Nevison Clements was the son of Herbert and Annie Clements and the husband of Dorothy Clements, of Wilmslow, Cheshire. He enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps, and volunteered for airborne forces.
Lance Corporal Clements successfully completed Air Despatcher training and was posted to an Air Despatch Company, Royal Army Service Corps, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
L/Cpl Clements was one of four Air Despatchers in RAF 233 Squadron Dakota KG-559, base Blakehill Farm. The aircraft was damaged by Flak and Ronald was thrown out of the aircraft without his parachute and fell to his death on 21 September 1944, aged 29. He is buried at Ravenstein Roman Catholic Cemetery, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. There were no other casualties and the pilot managed to land at Brussels, Belgium.
