Corporal Wilfred Revitt

Wilfred Revitt was the son of George Henry and Mary Revitt and the husband of Anne Revitt. He enlisted in the Coldstream Guards and volunteered for airborne forces.

Corporal Revitt successfully completed his glider training, and was posted to 1st (Airborne) Battalion, The Border Regiment and took part in operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Cpl Revitt died from dysentery, aged 34, in Stalag IXB (Wegscheide Bad-Orb), and was originally buried in Wegscheide POW Cemetery, 42 km south west of Fulda, Germany. He was re interred to Durnbach War Cemetery, grave ref:3.D.19. on 30 September 1947.
