John Frederick Graham was born in Eire and lived in Kent. He enlisted in the Royal Artillery, and volunteered for airborne forces.
Sergeant Graham successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and also Glider Pilot training and was posted to F Squadron, Flight 14, Chalk Number 190, The Glider Pilot Regiment, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Sgt Graham was killed in action by a mortar bomb on 20 September 1944, aged 22, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing.
