George Anderson, born in Dundee, Scotland, enlisted in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlander Regiment on 11 January, 1938. He served in India, Egypt, N. Africa, Italy and NW Europe.
He volunteered for airborne forces, joining the 10th Parachute Battalion in Kabrit and served with 1st Airborne Division during the Italy campaign before returning to the UK in preparation for the campaigns in North West Europe.
George Anderson transferred back to the Cameron Highlanders at the beginning of September 1944 and deployed later that month to North West Europe, where he took part in the remaining campaigns and stayed until 1946.
