Eric Sell was enlisted into The South Wales Borderers in World War II and volunteered for airborne forces.
He qualified as a military parachutist on course 92 which ran at RAF Ringway from 17 November to 3 December 1943 and was posted to 13th (Lancashire) Parachute Battalion, with whom he fought during the campaigns in North West Europe in 1944-45.
Eric Sell died on 24 March 1945, aged just 19 years on the first day of Operation Varsity, and is now commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial.
