Jack Waters was commissioned into the Royal Engineers (Territorial Army) in 1937.
He went on to serve as Officer Commanding 286 Field Park Company and was awarded the MBE in 1945.
After the war he continued to serve in the Royal Engineers, and was promoted to Lt Col on 1 November 1950.
He retired from the Territorial Reserve of Officers on 30 May 1966 having reached the mandatory retirement age.
