Colin Butcher enlisted into the Army in 1958 and successfuly completing training at the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Depot in Platoon 151.
He qualified as a military parachutist on course 476 which ran at RAF Ringway from 13 October to 6 November 1958.
