Trebah Airborne Forces and Military Day

The Trebah Airborne Forces and Military Day is an annual commemoration and remembrance event which takes place on the last Saturday in May.

Instituted by Major Tony Hibbert, it commemorates the bravery of the men of the United States 29 Infantry Division who embarked from Trebah, Cornwall, for the assault on Omaha Beach in Normandy in June 1944. Members of British Airborne Forces who have given their lives on active service since its formation are also commemorated.

A range of events normally take place during the day at Trebah Gardens and the proceeds from entry fees are donated to armed forces charities.
