Lance Corporal Stanley Le-Lievre

Stanley Le-Lievre enlisted into The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.

He later volunteered for airborne forces and served with 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment.

Lance Corporal Le-Lievre went on Operation Market Garden and fought at the Battle of Arnhem. L/Cpl Le-Lievre died during the withdrawal of Arnhem on 26 September 1944, aged 26 years old. He was recovered from the river on 4 October 1944 and he is now buried at Rhenen General Cemetery, Rhenen, Utrecht.
