William Fox was the son of Edward and Edith Fox; husband of Elisabeth Fox, of Grange Town, Yorkshire.
Sergeant Fox successfully completed his parachute training on the 9 July 1943.
He was then posted to 12th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment where he served in Normandy during Operation Overlord.
He died on 6 January 1945 and is buried at Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium.
