William Henry Stonebanks was the son of William Henry and Annie Stonebanks, of Northampton.
Serjeant Stonebanks served with the Glider Pilot Regiment, AAC, 1st Wing, and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.
Sjt Stonebanks died on 6 June, aged 29 years old, leaving a wife, Alice. He is now buried at Brucourt Churchyard Cemetery, Normandy.
