Don Newlands Borneo 1965

The monkey who had won its wings with honour was eventually court martialled for 'defecating' on someones bunk (not for the first time), the injured party pushed hard for the 'death penalty' at the subsequent court case but was unsuccesful!! However, not to be denied, the angry and aggrieved para grabbed the monkey and put a noose around its neck, he then slung the other end of the rope over a handy beam and summarily lynched the poor thing!! The court looked on with aghast and disbelief as the monkey hung limp and lifeless at the end of the rope, suddenly, it twitched... before coming to its senses and clambered UP the rope!! Now that IS a true story told by my father on many occasions.
