This is an inaccurate date for this photo. My father Pte Peter Maynard is pictured along with his friend Pte Vic Lightfoot, my father dropped on Ranville on 6th June 1944 along with his friend Vic. Later in that campaign, in August Vic lost his life and is buried in the war cemetery at Ranville. I think this photo is in fact 1944 prior to the D Day landings.
