The lowering of the 3 PARA flag prior to leaving Tyrone due to bad press and the local MP a Unionist politician and Ulster Defence Office officer, Ken Maginnis, then Member of Parliament for the area, called for the withdrawal of 3 PARA after receiving a large number of complaints about their behaviour.
