Description
This is the fifth and final video in a series charting the 50 years that the Britain's Airborne Forces were based in the 'Home of the British Army' Aldershot. The Colonel Commandant of the Parachute Regiment, Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer recalls his days as a young ‘Para’ officer starting out on his career in Aldershot. On the 6th July a bronze statue commemorating the garrison town's 50 year association will be unveiled in Princes Gardens.
