Paratrooper Mr Ray Sheriff, 84, was blinded by a German mortar bomb just seven hours after parachuting into the Battle of Arnhem on September 17, 1944. Despite his horrific injuries Mr Sheriff, a founder member of the 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, was determined to parachute again, a feat he achieved on his 70th birthday.
