Afghanistan Trust Release, dated July 2014: The Afghanistan Trust was honoured to welcome HRH the Prince of Wales Colonel in Chief Parachute Regiment at a reception prior to our annual fundraising summer ball at the HAC London.
The Prince spent an hour meeting members of the Trust, guests, Officers and soldiers of The Parachute Regiment. During this time the audience enjoyed music played by The Band and Bugles of The Rifles. Prince Charles and our guests enjoyed watching a free-fall display by the Red Devils who made an impressive entry flying flags of some of our sponsors and a huge Union Jack making for an awesome sight against the backdrop of London.
After HRH took his leave it was time to move to the dining hall and begin the rest of the evening’s events. Guests were escorted to their table by their hosts which are all serving members of The Regiment who had seen service in Afghanistan. The evening was a great success raising lots of funds for the Regimental family monies raised are expected to be in excess of £100k.
We thank all those who attended, supported us and those who made contributions on the evening in many ways. It is only with this support that we continue to support those who need our help. Our thanks go out to all that made the event such a success.
